Château de Compiègne

One of the most beautiful castles in France. Built in 1374, it was the royal residence of Charles V of France and now houses important museums.

Xilografia sets up museum spaces in this prestigious castle.

 

The Château of Compiègne hosts several museums that represent a cultural attraction of significant interest: the royal apartments constitute the museum house, there is also the Second Empire Museum, the Museum of the Empress, and the National Car Museum.

“Prosper Mérimée (1803 – 1870)”

Xilografia sets up this exhibition that explores the various facets of Prosper Mérimée, highlighting his roles as a literary mythmaker, archaeologist, man of culture, and senator. Through portraits and documents, it provides a comprehensive overview of his influence in art, science, and politics of the 19th century.

“Vitesse”

Xilografia sets up a new exhibition that offers the public a reflection on the desire for speed that has inspired the most diverse creators, from the origins of the history of means of transport to today.

“Concept Cars”

Bringing together around thirty cars, motorcycles, record vehicles, as well as around a hundred photographs, documents, preparatory drawings, models, this exhibition, the first devoted to this theme, presents the genealogy of these unique objects.
