The Birth of Contemporary Monaco.
Xilografia curated the exhibition’s set-up, inviting visitors to discover the fascinating historical, political, cultural, and familial ties between the Grimaldi and Napoleonic dynasties through an exhibition path that brings together nearly 200 works of art and historical artifacts, many of which are being shown to the public for the very first time.
“Monaco et les Napoléon(s). Destins croisés”
The exhibition is inspired by the geometry of the Legion of Honour and unfolds across seven themed rooms arranged around a central installation, each featuring colors and atmospheres that evoke the eras and themes represented. The journey takes visitors from the encounter between Napoleon and Honoré V, through the military campaigns, the courts, and the diplomatic relations between France and Monaco, up to the familial ties between the Grimaldi and Beauharnais families. It concludes in a sky-blue room, symbolizing the rebirth of the Principality.
